Most JHP bullets expand into a mushroom shape — a single cavity opens and the petals fold back symmetrically. The V-Crown expands differently.

On impact, the V-Crown forms two features simultaneously: a V-shaped main cavity at the nose, and a deep, narrow penetrating channel behind it.
