Why Subsonic .350 Legend

How the Sub-X Bullet Expands at Low Velocity

Reliable expansion at 1,050 fps is not automatic.

Standard hollow points depend on hydraulic pressure at impact, which is velocity-dependent.

The Hornady 350 Legend Sub-X solves this with three features:

Flex Tip insert. A polymer tip sits inside the hollow point cavity. On impact it drives inward, initiating expansion even when velocity is insufficient to hydraulically expand a standard cup-and-core bullet.

Longitudinal grooves. The gilding metal jacket carries pre-cut grooves that guide controlled peel-back on expansion.

Flat profile and lead core. The 250-grain weight and flat meplat maximise momentum transfer at subsonic velocities, where kinetic energy is lower than supersonic loads.
